Community Health Internship Program
The
Community Health Internship Program (CHIP) 2004 is available for college
students during Summer 2004.

Each
student will work closely with a participating mentor on a community health
project related to one of the following: medicine, laboratory, nursing,
social welfare, oral health, environmental health, mental/behavioral health, and
health information and/or research. In addition, all of the trainees will
participate in scientific seminars and workshops.

HOSA
Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA)
HOSA is a Career and Technical Student Organization endorsed by the U.S. Department
of Education and the Health Occupations Education Division of the Association
for Career and Technical Education.
HOSA's two-fold mission is to promote career opportunities in the health care
industry and to enhance the delivery of quality health care to all people. HOSA's
goal is to encourage all health occupations instructors and students to join and
be actively involved in the HOE-HOSA Partnership.
HOSA provides a unique program of leadership development, motivation, and recognition
exclusively for secondary, postsecondary, adult, and collegiate students enrolled
in health occupations education programs. HOSA is 100% health care! Membership
in HOSA is restricted to health occupations students.

School to Work
School to Work program
Skills for the Future, Wisconsin's School-to-Work system, is a partnership,
centering on students that involves parents, educators, employers, labor and
local, state and federal governments. The main components of School-to-Work
are: 1) career exploration, 2) School-based learning, and 3) Work-based learning.

Youth Apprenticeship
Youth Apprenticeship program
Youth apprenticeship is a two-year elective program that combines academic and
technical classroom instruction with mentored on-the-job learning for high school
students. Hands-on learning at the job site is combined with classroom
instruction to help students make the connection between school and the world
of work. Students may apply for the program through a local participating
high school if they are on target to graduate or have achieved junior standing
in a public or private secondary school.

* Diagnostic Services

BIONET, a dues-free, statewide sharing network that links K-12 educators throughout
WI with each other and with biology education resources. BioNet's
activities are clustered into twelve geographic regions, each coordinated by
a team of teachers who serve as regional directors.
